What
kind of ornament makes us beautiful before Jesus and before the men?
Everyone
pine for being accepted. And one of the things that counts, in our society, is
beauty. So much so that, one of the reasons for which Jesus wasn’t welcomed by
the Jews was His ugly appearance:
· “For
He comes up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground; He
has no form nor majesty that we should see Him, nor an appearance that we
should desire Him.” (Isa 53:2).
Nonetheless,
did you really thought over what really make us to build sound relationships?
The outward beauty can enthrall at the first moment. Beautiful people can
entice, but what kind of people will hold on them?
· “And
they said to him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the corpse is, there
the vultures will gather.” (Luke 17:37).
To
whom do we wish to keep close to us? Pigs, Dogs? If yes, see what Jesus warned
us about?
· “Do
not give that which is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine,
lest they trample them under their feet and turn again and tear you.” (Mat 7:6).
This
is the end of those who try to coax people through the supposed beauty of their
body or apparel:
· “Like
a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a beautiful woman who turns aside
discretion.” (Pro 11:22).
For
those who desire to enthrall using external beauty, think: and when this beauty
get lose (for instance, in virtue of the aging (2Cor 4:16)?
In
particular, for the women, the best thing to do is to follow Paul’s and Peter’s
advice:
· “In
the same way also, I desire that women adorn themselves in decent clothing,
with modesty and sensibleness, not adorned with braiding, or gold, or pearls,
or costly clothing, but with good works, which becomes women professing
godliness.” (1Tim 2:9,10).
· “Likewise,
wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that if any do not obey the
Word, they may also be won without the Word by the conduct of the wives, having
witnessed your chaste behavior in the fear of God. Of whom let not be the
adorning of garments, or outward braiding of hair and wearing of gold, or of
putting on clothing, but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that
which is not corruptible, the meek and quiet spirit, which is of great price in
the sight of God. For so once indeed the holy women hoping in God adorned
themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands; as Sarah obeyed
Abraham, calling him lord; whose children you became, doing good and fearing no
terror.” (1Pe 3:1-6).
Whatever,
either man and woman ought to focus in procuring the growth of the character
receiving, inside us, the beauty that there is in the holiness of the Creator
(Ps 29:2; 96:9).
What
beauty is so magnificent that the beauty of Creator’s holiness? Nothing let
someone so beautiful than a pure heart, fraught of love and good feelings and
thoughts!
So,
if you really look forward to being extremely beautiful, behold my suggestion
based on the Holy Scripture:
1
– Gird your loins with the belt of the truth (Eph 6:14).
2
– Have on breastplate of righteousness for your chest (or breasts) (Eph 6:14).
3
– Put on the shoes of the preparation of the gospel of peace (Eph 6:14). Can
you be sure: this will make your feet most pretty in the world:
· “How
beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good tidings, making
peace heard; who brings good news, making salvation heard; who says to Zion,
Your God reigns!” (Isa 52:7).
4
– Take the helmet of salvation in order to adorn your head with fair feelings
and thought (Eph 6:16):
· “For
Jehovah takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the meek with
salvation.” (Psa 149:4).
In
particular, for the women, they can use their hair (without cutting or change
their nature) as the most beauteous veil:
· “But
if a woman should have long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given
to her in place of a veil.” (1Co 11:15).
5
– Make your hands beautiful putting into practice the Word the comes out of the
mouth of the Creator (pore on Eph 6:16).
6
– As apparel, nor more appropriate than to dress up with the righteousness of
the saints and protect it with the faith (Eph 6:15) so that nothing can blot
this clean and white fine linen:
· “And
to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white.
For the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.” (Rev 19:8).
7
– For your face, there is no makeup so perfect than the joy of the Creator
(Nehemiah 8:10), which make you sturdy and cheerful:
· “A
merry heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is
broken.” (Pro 15:13).
8 – Ask Jesus’ wisdom (James 1:5-8) which
works as an iridescent necklace:
· “My
son, hear the instruction of your father, and forsake not the law of your
mother; for they shall be an ornament of grace to your head and chains
around your neck.” (Pro 1:8,9).
9
– Use the bracelet of the wisdom, adorning your fist, wrist and hand with
grace:
· “Wisdom
is the main thing; get wisdom; and with all your getting get
understanding. Prize her, and she shall lift you up; she shall bring you
to honor when you embrace her. She shall give to your hand an ornament of
grace; she shall shield you with a crown of glory.” (Pro 4:7-9).
10
– Let the Creator make of you a king and priest (Rev 1:6; 5:10) with His glory:
· “In
that day Jehovah of Hosts shall be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of
beauty, to the rest of His people,” (Isa 28:9).
This
will allow you to crown many people so that they can reign over the sin (Rom
5:17) and make all the Earth to fill with Jesus’ glory (Isa 11:9; Hab 2:14):
· “You
also will be a crown of glory in the hand of Jehovah, and a royal diadem in the
hand of your God.” (Isa 62:3).
Thereby
your name will be an oil to be used by the Holy Spirit to anoint someone with
Himself and, of course, protect and perfume their face with the sweet fragrance
of Jesus’ knowledge (2Cor 2:14-16):
· “For
Your ointments have a lovely fragrance; Your name is as oil poured out; therefore the virgins love You.” (Son 1:3)
Only
this kind of beauty will assure to you allegiant
friendship and salvation for your soul.
Therefore:
· “Let
not he being deceived trust in vanity; for vanity shall be his reward.” (Job
15:31)
Physical
beauty is futile and impermanent:
· “The
voice said, Cry! And he said, What shall I cry? All
flesh is grass, and all the beauty of it is as the flower of the
field. The grass withers, the flower fades, because the Spirit of Jehovah
blows on it; surely the people is grass. The
grass withers, the flower fades; but the Word of our God shall stand forever.”
(Isa 40:6).
· “Man
born of woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He comes forth like a
flower, and withers; he also flees as a shadow, and does not stand.” (Job
14:1,2).
· “who
do not know of the morrow. For what is your life? For it is a vapor, which
appears for a little time, and then disappears.” (Jas 4:14).
Hence
John to say:
· “Do
not love the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the
love of the Father is not in him, because all that is in the world, the
lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of
the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust
of it, but he who does the will of God abides forever.” (1Jn 2:15-17).
It's
not in vain that Paul advised the women:
· “Let
the aged women likewise be in reverent behavior, not slanderers, not enslaved
by much wine, teachers of good; that they may train the young women to
love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste,
keepers at home, good, subject to their own husbands, that the Word of God may
not be blasphemed.” (Titus 2:3-5).
After
all:
· “Favor
is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears Jehovah, she shall be
praised.” (Pro 31:30)
So, have a good week adorning
your thoughts and feelings with all Jesus’ wish for you and people around you.
After all, vanity only bring us harm:
· “He
who tills his land shall be satisfied with bread; but he who follows vanities
lacks heart.” (Pro 12:11).
· “He
who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, but he pursuing vanities shall
have poverty enough.” (Pro 28:19).
