We shouldn’t conquer the spouse only in dating, but throughout the life
Remember how was the conquest of the promised land by Israel?
The conquest of the Promised Land began when the Eternal gave His
promise to Abram:
·
" And the LORD said
unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and
look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and
westward: for all the land which thou seest, to
thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever." (Gen 13.14.15).
From this moment the land already belonged to the people of Israel. However, despite
this, the land needed to be acquired:
·
"Every place that the sole of your
foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto
Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the
river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward
the going down of the sun, shall be your coast. There shall not any man be
able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I
will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Be strong and of
a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance
the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give
them. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that
thou mayest observe to do according to all the law,
which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it
to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest
prosper whithersoever thou goest. This
book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth;
but
thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest
observe to do according to all that is written therein:
for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good
success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage;
be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee
whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1.3-9)
See how was the strategy of war:
1. The Eternal One showed them where to go.
2. Joshua and the people of Israel put the sole of
the foot of them on a piece of land in the promised land.
3. The Eternal One showed them how to proceed so that He
could operate its wonders and defeat the enemies before them.
4. The people of Israel, then, took possession of that
piece of land.
This process was to be repeated with each piece of land in the land of
Canaan until all of it come to be owned by Israel.
Likewise, this should also happen in the life of the couple.
Unfortunately, individuals believe that, after they marry, have already won the
loved one and, therefore, can now relax. Ignore the guidance of Peter:
·
"Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with
them according to knowledge, giving honour unto
the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace
of life; that your prayers be not hindered. " (1 Peter 3.7).
Note that it isn’t to have sexual relationship only with emotion, but
especially with understanding. In other words, the intimate relationship is not
only to satisfy the desires of the flesh. First of all, is for that husband and
wife may know the true ego of one another. The idea is that, every sexual
relationship, the husband, for example, learn a bit more of what the Eternal One
has placed in the heart of his wife.
As the husband comes in contact with something new that there
is in the heart of the woman, he discovers the enemies that exist in that portion
of her soul and spirit. He then prays in this regard and puts himself in
the hands of the Eternal One to expel the spiritual enemies who are housed
there. After this has been done, the husband, finally, mark that portion
of the soul and the spirit of the woman with Jesus and His Word, as well
as with himself:
·
"Set
me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon
thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the
coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame." (Songs 8.6)
With this portion of the soul and the spirit of the woman conquered, the
husband was guided by the Spirit of the Eternal toward the next portion of
the soul and the spirit of the woman to be conquered (the same goes for the wife with respect
to the husband).
If this procedure is repeated throughout the life of the couple, the
home will never become a dead and meaningless routine. On the contrary: always
husband and wife will find in the life of one another an opportunity to learn
something new from the Eternal One and see Him act. Each day is a new
conquest, a one more brand to be left in the heart of the spouse, until there
is no more space in the life of a spouse for anything that does not
have to be with Jesus and His will for home.
You may wonder: "but as a spouse will mark the other with Jesus,
His Word and himself?
·
“And did not he make one? Yet had he the
residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed.
Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the
wife of his youth." (Mal 2.15).
One of the mistakes that individuals make is to believe that the
relationship is aimed at sucking the qualities of another. There are those who
say that we shouldn’t look to the defects of others, but only for their
qualities, WHICH IS A MISTAKE!
Note how the Eternal One wanted to establish a seed of godly. Soon, the
relationship must be built on shortcomings of the spouse.
·
"Take heed to yourselves: If thy
brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive
him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times
in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. " (Luke 17.3,4).
Here's how it works: when, for example, the wife sins against her
husband, instead of the husband to follow the advice of the world and want to
force the wife to pay by her mistake, he follows the example left by
Christ (1Pet
2:21): gives his life for his wife (see John
15.12,13; Ephesians 5.25-27), i.e.,
delivery his life so that his wife can reach all victory over sin that Jesus
won for her on the cross of Calvary.
In other words, instead of the husband to charge of his wife the change,
he pays the price for the life of his wife.
·
"And I sought for a man among them,
that should make up the hedge,
and stand
in the gap before me for the land, that I should not
destroy it: but I found none." (Ezekiel 22.30).
To be more clear: let us suppose that the wife should sin against her
husband. The husband will seek, in the forgiveness of Christ, strengthen
the relationship with his wife precisely in that area in which she hath sinned,
creating then a thread between him and her at this point.
When she returns to sin in that area, again the husband seeks in the
forgiveness of Christ the restoration of the relationship, thus creating a new
connection (a
second thread). When she sins again, he seeks
in Christ the third thread, fourth, fifth, and so forth. There will be a
time that this strand will have so many threads that will eventually cover the
whole of that gap that exists in her heart (as occurs with the healing of a wound).
If this is done for each gap that exists in the heart of his wife, will come
a time when all the loopholes in the heart of the wife will be capped and
there will be no more space for the sin manifest in her life (even the wife should do by her husband).
You must believe that today is the day that the Eternal One has done for
us (Ps 118.24) and that our great challenge is joy and
rejoice at this day. If we stay joyful only when everything is favorable,
if we are to love your spouse only when they act in accordance with what we
expect of him, what difference we have in relation to the wicked?
We have to be perfect like the Father, which is achieved when we leave
Jesus use our lives to do His will.
In this case, if instead of the individual dishearten oneself for the
sins of their spouse, he is able to maintain the joy of Christ next to this, the
Eternal One will have the opportunity to heal the heart of the spouse and
deliver them from sin.
The problem is that, many times, the couple assumes that can lead your
home only on the basis of mutual cooperation. However, the home is something much
deeper than that:
·
"And Jesus knew their thoughts, and
said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation;
and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:" (Matthew 12.25).
When the Bible says that in Jesus a husband and wife are nothing apart
from each other (Gen 2.24;
1 Corinthians 11.11), this is literal! Both need to
be always together and in the same thing (as should also be with the Church - 1 Corinthians 1.10; Acts
4.32; Phil 4.2).
The sin prevents a husband and wife to be bound to one another with
depth such that one cannot live without the other, in virtue of they live
one another. Without this conquest in the life each other, there isn’t home,
but only a gathering of individuals under the same roof. And this
division will make the home come down sooner or later.
The important thing are not things themselves that we do, nor the amount
of them, but rather the fact of us making something along those
individuals that the Eternal One gave us and with the Holy Spirit, in
order to confirm Jesus’ Word.
The goal is not to meet the expectations of others, but to do that they
are not expecting (see 1
Cor 2.9; Eph 3.20), because their
expectations are bad.
Finally, let husband and wife never lose interest of conquering one
another, but seek in Christ go
throughout this world that the Eternal One placed in the heart of the spouse,
preaching the gospel to every creature which is housed in them (John 15:16).
Who is fighting with your spouse is because they do not know the
greatness of what the Eternal One gave him. It is sad how sin prevents the
individual to see how beautiful and great is the love of the Eternal One for
them expressed through another human being. Hence the reason why divorce
grieve so deeply the heart of the Eternal One (Mal 2.16). After all, this
implies to reject His wonderful gift.
This gift of a human being liking another is not something trivial;
rather, it is so wonderful, fantastic, supernatural (the greatest miracle that
exists), that the end of a relationship shouldn’t be seen with so much
naturality.
The love is a worderful gift that Jesus
prepared with so much affection especially for who receive it. Who ignore,
despise or reject a relationship simply is despising the riches that there is
in Eternal One’s goodness, patience and longsuffering.
Throw it all in the trash as if it were nothing is a
extremely heinous spiritual crime. After all, you think in so great sadness (also
called abomination) takes account of the heart of the Eternal One when someone
breaks up (for example, divorce oneself).
In particular, with regard to marriage, what the man is receiving from
the Eternal One is someone especially prepared with so much care to help him
accurately in all areas of his live.
The woman, in turn, is receiving from the Eternal One the privilege of
seeing their gifts and talents being used by someone who will allow her to
bring someone special to the world, which will reveal something about the Eternal
One which until today has not been revealed and which will not be revealed
after (Psalms 25.14).
The woman received the privilege of being saved by Jesus through the
motherhood (1Tim 2:15).
