030 - Jesus led captivity captive. What this means?

Jesus led captivity captive. What this means?

·        "The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them." (Ps 68.17,18).

·        "But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men." (Ephesians 4.7,8).

·        " But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." (Heb 2.9-15).

It is according to the measure of Christ's gift, which was given to the Church when He led captivity captive of the law of sin and death (established by the religious system), that each one receives the favor of the Eternal One. And the purpose of the Eternal One, with this, is to dwell among those are of His.

The grace is given to us to rid ourselves from the bondage of the law.

·        "But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter." (Romans 7.6).

We were delivered from the law when we die to the law that retained us (when we renounce our ego). When Jesus tasted death for everyone (gave up His life in this world and even in paradise, since He agreed to be cursed of the Eternal One - Deut 21.23; Gal 3:13), He defeated Ha-Satan who had the power  of the death.

As He did this? He agreed to go down to the depths of hell. However, the hell cannot withstand such goodness and justice in its interior, and thus threw up Jesus from there (it was thus with Jesus when He was expelled by the inhabitants of the Decapolis - Matt 8.34).

The bondage of the law ended (it was taken) when Jesus ascended to heaven, and gave His gifts to men to, through them, dwell among them.

The individuals were condemned to serve the death, namely, the empire of Ha-Satan (the law - 2Co 3.7.9), because of the fear that they had of its. They served to this empire, strengthened and made many victims of it, in the hope that they escape this empire. Served what they feared that happen them. However, since they were not the victim, they were happy to serve this empire of which they were afraid.
