MACUMBA EXIST?
It works?
Introduction
Spiritual manifestations
First
point: macumba exists:
·
"And
Moab was sore afraid of the people, because they were many: and Moab was
distressed because of the children of Israel. And Moab said unto the
elders of Midian, Now shall this company lick up all that are round
about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the
field. And Balak the son of Zippor
was king of the Moabites at that time. He sent messengers therefore
unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor,
which is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call
him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover
the face of the earth, and they abide over against me: come now therefore, I pray
thee, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: peradventure
I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive
them out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest
is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed. And
the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of
divination in their hand; and they came unto Balaam, and spake
unto him the words of Balak."
(Num
22.3-7).
·
"For
the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two
ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with
images, he looked in the liver." (Ezek
21.21).
Second point: unclean spirits manifest:
·
"In
thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth
on men, fear came upon me, and
trembling, which made all my bones to shake. Then
a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up: it stood still, but I could
not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there
was silence, and I heard a voice, saying, shall
mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more
pure than his maker?" (Job 4.13-17).
Third point: unclean spirits can be invoked and
respond to the invocation:
·
"Then
said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And
he said, Bring me up Samuel. And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with
a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying,
Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul. And the king said
unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And
the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. And he
said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up;
and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was
Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed
himself. And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me
up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war
against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth
me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee,
that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do. Then said Samuel,
Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and
is become thine enemy? And the LORD hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the LORD hath rent the kingdom out of
thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even
to David:" (1Sam 28.11-17).
Fourth point: macumba may have effectiveness:
·
"The
Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not
as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this
publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I
possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as
his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful
to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather
than the other: for every one that exalteth himself
shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall
be exalted. And they
brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his
disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto
him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not:
for of such is the kingdom of God." (Luke 18.11-16).
·
"And
he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the
devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people
wondered. But some of them said, He casteth out
devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils. And others, tempting him,
sought of him a sign from heaven. But
he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against
itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth. If Satan also be divided against himself, how
shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through
Beelzebub." (Luke 11.14-18).
·
"Now
when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared
first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils."
(Mark
16.9).
·
"And
certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary
called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils," (Luke 8.2)
· "And
he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said,
Seven. And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took
the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set
before them; and they did set them before the people. And
they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also
before them. So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of
the broken meat that was left seven baskets. And they that had
eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away. And straightway he
entered into a ship with his disciples, and came into the parts of Dalmanutha. And the Pharisees came forth, and began to
question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him. And he
sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this
generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be
given unto this generation. And he left them, and entering into the ship
again departed to the other side." (Mark 8:5-13).
Fifth point: But in the person who believes in Jesus, belongs to Him and follows Him nothing happens:
·
"Surely
there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any
divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and
of Israel, What hath God wrought!"
(Num 23.23).
·
"And
it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing
and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to
mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee, and shalt return unto the
LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee
this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy
soul; that then
the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and
will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath
scattered thee." (Deut 30.1-3).
·
"There
shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For
he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."
(Psalm 91:10-11).
Sixth point: the curse only
starts when there is a point, that is, when the individual is taken from wickedness:
·
"As
the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall
not come." (Prov 26.2).
·
"As he
loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let
it be far from him." (Psalm
109.17).
Seventh point: it is good to
remember that the one who believes in Jesus is not allowed to repay evil for
evil:
·
"Curse
not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber:
for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall
tell the matter." (Ecc 10.20).
·
"Recompense
to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men." (Romans
12:17).
·
"Take heed that no one give another
evil for evil, but always follow the well, both with one another, as with all.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:15).
·
"Depart
from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it." (Psalm
34:14).
·
"Be
not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans
12:21).
·
"Therefore to
him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not,
to him it is sin." (James 4.17).
·
"Blessed
is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not
iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no
guile." (Psalms 32:2).
Eighth point: therefore, macumba is something disgusting to the
Eternal One.
·
"Thou
shalt not suffer a witch to live." (Exodus
22.18).
·
"Regard
not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled
by them: I am the LORD your God." (Leviticus
19:31).
·
"When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee,
thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There
shall not be found among you any one that maketh
his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an
enchanter, or a witch, or a
charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a
necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto
the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them
out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God." (Deuteronomy 18:9-13).
·
"For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is
as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD,
he hath also rejected thee from being king." (1Sam 15.23).
·
"And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used
enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much
wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger." (2Kings 21.6);
·
"Moreover the workers with familiar spirits, and the wizards, and the
images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were spied in the land of
Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of
the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the
house of the LORD. And like unto him was there no king before him, that
turned to the LORD with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his
might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any
like him." (2Kings
23.24,25).
·
"And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto
them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter:
should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To
the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it
is because there is no light in them."
(Isaiah 8:19-20).
·
"Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your
dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you,
saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:"
(Jer 27.9).
·
"And say, Thus
saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows
to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt
souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive
that come unto you? And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of
barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to
save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear
your lies? Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD;
Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make
them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even
the souls that ye hunt to make them fly." (Ezek
13.18-20).
·
"And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of
the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used
enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with
wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to
anger." (2 Chr 33.6).
Ninth point: all involved will be
severely punished.
·
"And
the soul that turneth after such as have familiar
spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face
against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people."
(Leviticus 20:6).
·
"A man
also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be
put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be
upon them." (Lev 20.27).
·
"So Saul
died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even
against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel
of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it;"
(1 Chronicles 10:13).
·
"And I
will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more
soothsayers:" (Micah 5.12).
·
"And I
will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the
sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against
those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the
fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear
not me, saith the LORD of hosts "
(Malachi 3:5).
·
"Now the works of the flesh are manifest,
which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry,
witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions,
heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before,
as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not
inherit the kingdom of God. " (Galatians 5:19-21).
·
"But
the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and
whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their
part in the lake which burneth with fire and
brimstone: which is the second death." (Rev
21.8).
·
"For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and
murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh
a lie." (Revelation 22:15).
Tenth point: why in some cases, even
if the individual deserve the evil, then evil imprecate
against them don’t reach them?
·
"But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the
iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full." (Gen 15.16).- yet isn’t
reached the time for them to be punished.
Eleventh Point: and if the macumba
was for good?
·
"Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then
may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil." (Jeremiah 13.23).
·
"Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate:
it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of
Joseph." (Amos 5.15).
·
"And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating
even the garment spotted by the flesh."
(Jude 1.23).
·
"For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad
therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is
good, and simple concerning evil."
(Romans 16.19).
·
"Abstain from all appearance of evil."
(1Thes 5.22).
Note that it is not enough to love the good. You
must hate evil:
·
"But if our unrighteousness commend the
righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh
vengeance? (I speak as a man) God forbid: for then how shall God judge the
world? For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his
glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? And not rather, (as we
be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that
good may come? whose damnation is just."
(Rom 3.5-8).
In addition, think:
if the well, to reach someone, it has to be forced, then it is because
someone is being undermined (or at least feeling impaired).
And, if in
fact the goal is to do good, to whom the wizards are trying to force for
this?
·
The Creator
One? He is the love and kindness in essence (1 John 4.8,16). He does not deny
no good to anyone (Mt 5.44,45), much less those who fear Him (Psalm 34.10):
o
"Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is
good; lead me into the land of uprightness."
(Psalm 143:10).
·
The angels?
Useless, since they only make what is the will of the Eternal One. They are to service
only of those who shall be heirs of salvation (Heb
1.14; Rev 19.10; 22.9).
·
The demons?
They will never do what is good:
o
"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye
will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth,
because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a
lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and
the father of it." (John 8.44).
Before all this, it stays the recommendation of John:
·
"Beloved, believe not every spirit,
but try the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets are
gone out into the world." (1 John 4.1).
Before we try to resolve things, seek earnestly to
discover that spirit is at work in us and in the individuals around us so
that we seek solely on Jesus and His Grace, the solution of the problems that
arise in our life.
