005 - Colossians 1:20 - Is heaven not reconciled with God? How’s that? (suggested by Pamelasv)
• “And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.” (Colossians 1.20).
When the Eternal created the heavens and the earth, He created everything reconciled to Himself (with His Spirit).
When Ha-Satan sinned, there arose, not a vacancy per se, but a series of loopholes, all based on two premises:
• it is possible for something to work without Jesus.
• It is possible for something to work out without His Word.
Since then, all things in the heavens and on earth have been separated from the Eternal.
I know this theory seems absurd. Even though two-thirds of the angels remained faithful.
In spite of this, such fidelity was like Job's: for fear of the Eternal (Job 1.1-5). While this may seem right, it is well to remember that those who are afraid can not be perfected in love (1 John 5:18).
That is, even in spirit the angels remained faithful only out of fear.
Then came Jesus to reconcile not only angels and men, but all living and non-living beings (2 Corinthians 5: 18-20). And this reconciliation involves not only His spirit (as it was in creation) but also His body and blood (soul, life).
Even here, we can learn that the Eternal does not only want our heart, but our body, soul and spirit (1 Corinthians 6:20; 1 Thessalonians 5:23).
To be clear: in what the Eternal became flesh, dwelt among us, lived obediently unto death, rose again, ascended into heaven and established the Church as a continuation of His life here, will be manifested to principalities and powers in the heavens His manifold grace and wisdom:
• “Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; and to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: to the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,” (Ephesians 3.8-10).
In other words, through the Church the Eternal will confirm the efficacy of Jesus and His word in the most diverse circumstances and possible people, so that the principalities and powers in the heavens, as well as the whole universe, shut up and bow before the Eternal For not having anything to say to the contrary:
• “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2.10,11).
• “I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.” (Isaiah 45.23).
I know it sounds weird, but the whole universe, somehow, is aware of all that Jesus does in the world through His Church. Just think that
• “Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights. Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass. Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps: fire, and hail; snow, and vapours; stormy wind fulfilling his word: mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars: beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:” (Psalms 148.1-10).
• “Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” (Psalms 150.6).
• “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.” (Rom 8.19-22).
• “And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.” (Ap 5.13).
Finally, in that the whole universe lives in loving vigilance (observing Jesus acting in His Church and letting the Eternal use it not to let his brother sin), His Word is confirmed in the hearts until all doubt ceases in all hearts and, then everything (living and non-living creation) is reconciled with the Eternal in Christ Jesus.
On this basis, may Jesus grant that there is in our hands only the power for good.
